About Oncosia

The company.

Oncosia Scientific GmbH is a specialist dosimetry service company working at the intersection of nuclear medicine, medical physics, and regulated clinical research. We support clients across clinical centres, pharmaceutical sponsors, CROs, and academic research partners — work that spans pre-clinical and clinical dosimetry, radiopharmaceutical trial support, and regulatory documentation to FDA and EMA standards.

As our international footprint grows, we need someone who can bridge English and Mandarin precisely — in written technical material and live in the room.

The role

What this is.

We are looking for a Werkstudent to support our team with translation and interpreting between English and Mandarin (native/mother-tongue level). This is not a general-purpose translation job: the content is technical — medical physics, dosimetry, and clinical documentation — so accuracy and domain understanding matter as much as language fluency.

You will work closely with our technical and clinical teams, translating documents and interpreting during meetings with Mandarin-speaking partners, clients, and collaborators.

Responsibilities

What you will do.

Document Translation

  • Translate technical documents from English to Mandarin: reports, SOPs, presentations, and client-facing material.
  • Maintain precision and consistency of technical terminology across documents.

Meeting Interpretation

  • Provide live interpretation (consecutive) during meetings, calls, and presentations involving Mandarin-speaking counterparts.

Formatting & Delivery

  • Prepare translated material in Word and PowerPoint to a polished, professional standard — ready for external use, not just draft quality.

Cross-Team Liaison

  • Work with medical physicists, project leads, and clients to clarify terminology and ensure translations reflect the correct technical meaning, not just literal wording.
Requirements

What we are looking for.

Background

  • Currently enrolled student (Bachelor's or Master's) in physics, medical physics, medicine, or a closely related field.
  • Based in Germany — this role is remote, but requires you to be located in Germany.
  • A direct interest in medical physics is a benefit — you will get to work closely with real dosimetry calculations, radiopharmaceutical therapy documentation, and clinical trial workflows, and pick up practical, hands-on exposure to the field that goes well beyond what's covered in coursework.

Languages

  • Mandarin Chinese — native/mother-tongue level, written and spoken.
  • English — excellent, written and spoken; comfortable working directly from technical English source material.

Skills & tools

Document tools
Excellent Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills — clean, professional formatting of technical and client-facing documents.
Communication
Strong communication skills — clear, confident, and precise, particularly when interpreting live in a meeting setting.
Technical terminology
Comfortable working independently and asking clarifying questions when technical terminology is ambiguous.
Apply

How to apply.

We do not need a lengthy cover letter. Tell us briefly:

  • Your current course of study and expected graduation.
  • Any experience translating or interpreting technical/scientific material (formal or informal).
  • Your availability (hours per week, earliest start date).

A focused, honest application matters more than a comprehensive one.
